At a loss for words.

November 30th, 2009 | by Thomas Gemkow |

With 26 seconds left in yesterday afternoons game against the Falcons, I was ready to log in to WhatTheBucs.com and start to gloat about my correct prediction for a Bucs win.

The score was 17-13, and for once this season, it looked like Tampa Bay had everything worked out right for a winning equation.

I was planning out what my next post would be like. How I would celebrate not only the teams victory, but my own.

Then, about five minutes before I was going to log in, I get a text from a friend that does not even watch football, but is a Falcons fan because she is from Georgia.

Lame. She informed me the Bucs lost 20-17. Of course, I thought she was joking, so I head back to the break room at work only to find out, she was indeed right.

I shook my head…how can you loose a game in the last 26 seconds when the Falcons main offensive guys are hampered by injury?

The table was set perfectly! Not only were the Bucs playing better than normal, but Matt Ryan and Michael Turner–the cogs that make the Falcons offensive go–were on the sidelines.

Such is this first–and hopefully only seasson–for Raheem Morris and the Buccaneers.

An in depth look to come later…right now I am shaking my head too much to put together a cohesive thought about the game and its breakdowns.
